can't find Installation CD 4 (KDE 3.3)

I've downloaded 3 Mandrake Linux Installation CDs
Early in the install process, it lists _4_ CDs, the 4th being for KDE 3.3
I do not see a 4th CD available for download.

I see instructions for upgrading to KDE3.3:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...icle&artid=321

but this is not the same, and not nearly as easy.

Where can I download this CD?

I found these in another question:
http://ftp.linuxcenter.ru/iso/Mandra...d-CD4.i586.iso
ftp.uni-kl.de/pub/linux/mandrake.iso/Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official-Download-CD4.i586.iso
ftp.tuniv.szczecin.pl/dsk3/mandrakelinux-club/standard/Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official-Download/Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official-Download-CD4.i586.iso
ftp.cb.spb.ru/.1/Linux-Distrib/Linux-Center/Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official/Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official-Download-CD4.i586.iso
ftp.neva.ru/.1/Linux-Distrib/Linux-Center/Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official/Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official-Download-CD4.i586.iso
http://www.mirrors.net.ru/pub/mirror...d-CD4.i586.iso

but they are are either unusably slow or simply unreachable

The download version of 10.1 does not come with CD#4. It is just "extra" stuff, like KDE3.3, that isn't *needed*. Some people have taken it upon themselves to put the 4th CD up on the net, but as you say, those sites are generally slow or even unreachable.

If you really want to try KDE3.3, you best bet is to follow the instructions in the thread you link to in your first post. Just be aware that the KDE3.3/MDK10.1 integration has some problems, which is why they didn't use KDE3.3 as the default install in the first place. ;)

I'm a search expert for a company in Florida. It's my job to find anything they want at the cheapest possible price. It could be anything from information to an office chair. I'm very good at what I do but was having a time with certain aspects of the linux install as I see that others have. The above links and download times are extremely slow and even when accessed through my T1 max download trough-put was only about 20K per sec. and required about 6-10 hours. Here's one that will help you all. Max throughput I reached was 176k/sec and download time of about 1 hour plus. Hope this helps anyone out having this problem. Good Luck. http://game.intrstar.net/ftp/linux/m...d-CD4.i586.iso

Be aware that some things will defnitely break once you install kde 3.3 on mandrake 10.1 as a matter of fact the version that mandrake is shooting for kde is version 3.3.2

The 4th disc is not necessary. It only has extra stuff on it. Nothing necessary for your installation.
