Hello. I just finished installing Mandrake Linux 10.0 Community (3 CD set ) This is my first Linux Distro, so i'm a real newbie. After installation, I get the screen that comes up with three options:

linux
failsafe
floppy

When I click on "linux" everything is going fine, OK after OK, It's saying it failed at Eth0 (I heard this is normal if your using a modem) So it just says "FAILED" And then keeps listing all of the OK's, but after awhile it just stops for half a second and the screen turns black/grey and it stays like that. I heard my Video Card configuration or something else might be messed up but I'm not sure how to change it ( real linux newbie ) Any help is most appreiated.

Try Ctrl-Alt-F2 after the screen turns black/grey. If you get a log-in prompt, then your XF86config file is not correct. If you still have the black/grey screen, then I am at a loss.
