Talking Best install of a Linux Distro

IMO anyways......

Found my ATI card and even configured 3d amongst other things. Good installer, unlike Fedora, and I think I've been weaned off of KDE and onto Gnome now. Just seems more polished to me. Also UT runs like an absolute dream, no tearing either, unlike my Windows install. DivX/XviD play straight out of the box, nice. (Swear the quality is better than Windows).

So if your new to Linux, like me, I deffo recommend this distro. Easier than installing XP. (Didn't even need third party drivers for my ATA133 drives like on xp). Fair enough that it's a newer OS, so it's got more chance of having the drivers, but that's just a nice touch.

Only problem I've come across is I have to select no test on the install for Xorg, otherwise it crashes the install with wavy lines. It also does this when I'm shutting the system down. I'm pretty sure this is a refresh config problem but don't know where to look. Any help on this would be appreciated.

I don't see a question. If you want to post a review, there is a Distro Review link.

Not a review as such......and not exactly a question, but I was asking for a bit of help on this......

Usually these are errors related to either the AGP driver vis-a-vis your motherboard (parameters may have to be specified in the XFConfig file...) or X doesn't know the amount of VRAM on your video card... and again you must help it along.

Other factors may also be to blame, but I'd start with the above.
