I had a similar problem with the same card.

To solve it make sure you're using the alsa drivers (snd-emu10k1). Then start kmix, display the mixer window, check the advanced box, and turn off a switch called Audigy analog. If your other settings are correct you should be getting sound after this.

I wasn't able to get the audigy driver to work in 10.0 even though it worked in 9.2.

The reason this happened is due to changes in alsa and not anything Mandrake did. If you upgrade to the newer alsa drivers in 9.2 the same thing happens.

I too had a problem with my sound not working, but everything seeming to check out fine. I just fixed it though. This is what I did to fix the problem for me.
KMenu ->
System ->
Configuration ->
KDE ->
Sound ->
Sound System
At the top of the sound system window there is a check box that says "Enable the Sound System"
For some reason it was checked as off for me. As soon as I checked it on, I was able to use the Test buttons and I heard sound. Needless to say I was pretty happy. I also noticed that I now have surround sound, which I was never able to get to work in any other distro on this machine. Hopefully your solution will be as easy as mine. Good Luck.
