Ati Radeon TV-Out

Hello!!

I have finally installed my Ati Radeon 9700 pro graphics card using an exellent guide

Its working great, almost everything.

My tv-out works i can see the desktop with color and everything,
but when i opening a video file in some program (koffeine) then i dont see the picture
just a blue screen from the Mandrake desktop in the koffeine screen where the movie are going to be.

What can i do about this?
I want to be able to see the movie at my tv in full screen with picture visible
(Mandrake 10.1)

Thanks!!

Have you tired adjusting your AGP aperture in your PC's BIOS? I know that worked for me when I had problems with Kaffine and the movie wouldn't play but I could hear the sound. Increasing it helped.

Hey Gollum78, would you be able to post up what you did to fix it? Im new to linux so...

my setup is similar... Mandrake 10 with a 9600XT card. I get a picture on the TV, sorta. Its all out of sync. When I go to the peripherals section of 'configure your desktop' the display shows the option for mulitple monitors, but says I don't have this configuration. Like I said, Im new so this may be the wrong place. thanks

One possible solution

Hello all, have just recently discovered this forum as I am running an ATI all in wonder 9600 and have recently had the same problems with the "blue screen" on the tv while it plays fine on the monitor. I have found a solution. From reading this thread:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.p...ty+radeon+9600

It appears that the ati drivers have some problems when you select clone mode. I simply selected single head and now the movies display perfectly on my tv with mplayer.
hope it helps.
