Any Mdk 10.1 and Radeon9600XT user ?

I'm new to Mandrake 10.1( comong from Fedora Core 2 ). While installing, I was asked to select my video card ( an ATI Radeon 9600XT ) but it doesn't figure in the proposed ATI boards list so I selected the closest model ( Radeon 8500 ) but couldn't get 3D hardware acceleration " Direct rendering: NO "
The I reinstalled but selecting the ATI fglx ( fire GL board option ) and now it works ( Except with a minor problem with fonts when running games using the Plib library, like Tuxkart or Torcs ).
So obviously, Mandrake auto-install the ATI Radeon drivers.
Do you Radeon 9600XT owners select the fglrx board and let Mandrake 10.1 install and configure automagically the ATI driver, or do you install and configure it manually ?
tia
