adding modules to the kernel

Hi,

Iam using mandriva 2006 (2.6.12-12mdk kernel) , when iam trying to install sophos antivirus for this kernel, some of the components is not insalling and giving me the error
"Kernel does not support the packages". So how could i know that which package has to be installed and how can i install it. I have the supported list of kernels for the particular software.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Are there any kernel updates for Mandriva? If there are, try installing them. I've taken a look, but I cannot find the list of kernels supported by Sophos - would you mind posting it?

What you could always do is compile the latest kernel on that list by hand

And just in case you hadn't seen this:
Quote:
If you recompile Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux to support a Linux distribution unsupported by Sophos, or a customised Sophos Anti-Virus is also available for a wide range of non-Linux platforms, from gateway Linux kernel, Sophos reserves the right not to endpoint, including Windows, Macintosh, UNIX, NetWare, OpenVMS and OS/2.
There's also an extra bit about the support you're entitled to if you run it on another distro here: http://www.sophos.com/sophos/docs/en...Linux-dsuk.pdf

Cheers,

-jk

Ps. Welcome to LQ!
