Try this: Alt+F2 type mcc click run. Input your root password and click ok.

goto: Hardware-->Configure 3D desktop effects-->Select 3D desktop then click the Advanced settings icon, leave graphical server on native support choose either Compiz or Beryl (the packages may need to be installed), you will then have to log out and log back in again.

Hopefully the 3D Desktop should now work correctly.

I have done what you said but no luck whit it,
There are 2 options i can choose : AIGLX and Xgl.
I i choose AIGLX then everithing is white, the cube rotation works but everithing is white,
And if i choode the other then nothing happens.
i have the latest nvidia driver installed, and a GF fx 5500 128*128

Do you have the nvidia-dkms kernel installed? Did you download and install the Nvidia driver yourself? Are the results the same with Beryl & Compiz?

I had that problem, and my nvidia driver was installed incorrectly, if you urpmi it, it should work.

Here is what i have installed :
Mandriva 2007.0 (4 cd version)
I have downloaded the kernel source
kernel-source-2.6.17.5mdv-1-1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm
and the Nvidia driver
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9755-pkg1.run
Installed both of them manually.
The nvidia driver seems to work because the nvidia logo shows at startup.

Beryl and compiz : i do not have beryl, it was not included on the cd s,
btw it should work with compiz too , or not ?

Tell me what log to paste in because i have no idea, im new to linux.

I believe this may fix the white screen problem.
