Question 3 Questions by a Mandriva Noob: Suspend to RAM/Disk, Compiz-Fusion, Screensavers

Hi, all. I'm a newbie when it comes to Mandriva, though I've had some experience with Kubuntu. The easy 3D desktop experience, along with the flawless nVidia driver installation, was great, but I have a few questions.

Question 1:
How do I Hibernate or Standby my computer ? There is no such option in the Poweroff Menu.

Question 2:
I have Compiz-Fusion. Is there an option to allow dragging of the windows in my taskbar to a certain desktop (i.e. drag a window to desktop 4) ?

This brings me to an interesting topic: Does Compiz-Fusion replace KDE ? I go in KControlCenter, and it says that I have only one desktop. However, I have four. If I say two desktops, then i magically have eight ! What's up with this ? Also, if I uncheck, say, Window Resize in Compiz Settings, I can't resize my windows ! But if I did not have Compiz, there would be no problem. Is Compiz-Fusion like a layer that is added on top of the K Desktop Environment ? Does this render the KDE Control Center useless ?

Question 3: How do I get the same screensavers as in Kubuntu (all those OpenGL Mac-style screensaver) ? My installation only came with 1 screensaver ! Is this normal ?

Thank you very much for your answers !

1. Don't know, never used it.
2. Don't know, Don't use 3D desktop
3. Don't Know, Don't . . . . oh wait, I can help you here

Just try searching in MCC/Software Installer for screensaver.
xscreensaver-gl is what I use, if you want to try it, just search xscreensaver in MCC, and install the xscreensaver and xscreensaver-gl stuff.

If you haven't already, set up your repositories/sources, you can do so easily by going to the easyurpmi site

http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/

and follow the 3 steps there, selecting your correct version etc.

You can also do it from within MCC, MCC/Software Management/Configure Media Sources for Install and Update/Add. I prefer to use Easyurpmi

In compiz, to move windows to another desktop, with the window up, but not maximised, drag (from one face of the cube to another, left or right) the top bar to the desktop you want.

Hybernate? standby? My computer is ready to go at any time, I don't use them, sorry, but think about apm and acpi.

Yeah, I know about the drag thing, but I was wondering if I could drag a window directly on the pager to the destop I want.

For example, I would like to be able to clik on the firefox tab in my taskbar, and drag it to the desktop marked "2", insted of having to drag the window while holding Ctrl + Alt. No biggie.

But I would like to be able to suspend to ram or disk, though. How ?

I'm not too sure what you mean by the pager thing, but you can right click (for menu) the title bar and select move to another workspace. (look mum, one hand)
