Well i've got an idea that disc 4 is only available to club members of a certain level and above. So it's safe to just cancel it.
And the "doslike" command prompt sounds like you either didn't manage to install a window manager, or the init level is set to 3 and if so, you'd then have to login with your username and password, but it will probably still just get you the system login, but with your username.
So boot the linux, follow the instructions, when the prompt appears, login as root + root password, then type startx and see what happens, or you could try either gnome or gdm.
if it's something to do with your graphic card selection or whatever, you should get something about it in the error message.
Oh, and it's often worth while just installing the default stuff, but what I do is to select all the stuff down the left of the package selection box (except LSB, because otherwise you get a 2.4 series kernel), plus kde and gnome. Then I finish the install from there, though I do tell it that I don't want a default window manager login. I prefer it to be able to use the dropdown during login - the fact that I tend to use kde is irrelevant.
