10.2 limited edition 2005

just wondering if anyone else installed this. if so what are your thoughts.
the only problem i have so far is the dreaded java link to mozilla. tried a few different versions of java but it just doesnt seem to take. i tried to configure this like i had the other versions but no luck. (older versions and new version of java)
still needs some fine tunning to make it how i want and there is alot i still have to look at.

10.2 Ltd

Have just installed this version myself, so far so good everything is up and running fine. Best of all it seems that my LAN connection is stable. The only thing is I haven't managed to get my MO drive mounted but will look through the forums for some advice about that.

I had installed 10.0 which reeked havoc with my machine, then 10.1 which half worked - reinstalled it about a dozen times and finally got it at an acceptible level. I then got a new hard drive and put 10.1 in from the start and "bingo" perfect except for LAN connection. So fingers crossed this time that all is well.
I've got a Toshiba Dynabook DS60P with additional 128 RAM and a 40gig HDD (internal).
Connected devices - Toshiba CD-ROM (PC card), Corega LAN card, optical mouse (USB), Epson PM950c (USB),
Buffalo clip drive (USB), IOData HDPX-U80 (USB), Toshiba FDD (USB) and Memory card PC card adapters (3).

The MO is a Logitec LMO-A636U and I'm going to try linking my Pioneer DVD recorder through the i-link to see what happens!

My brother adviced me if I was having problems to just keep re-booting the system to see if it helps - something about it constintley upgrades itself each time at boot (not through the internet) kinda like a self-repair program. Some of the re-installing I done I selected "upgrade" rather than "new install" and maybe thats why I got it to a point where I was happy with it.

Sorry that I don't have a definite solution for your problem - but thought you might like to know how I got on with the new release...

All the best....

I've been running 10.2b for about a month, most things are no problem. sound, lan, etc. however there have been a couple of issues I have come across.
KDE is buggy. mount, unmount has caused system wide lock ups every now and then. and I have the strange problem of not being able to shut down the system every now and then, it just goes to the "log out" default. However I have been using Gnome and enlightenment (gnome by default) and everything is smooth and stable.
To be honest I haven't done anything to address these issue as my wife is the only one who uses kde, and she doesn't really mind about mount unmount as she never uses the cd drives, only the shut down problem is something I have been meaning to get around to. I'll probably go back to 10.1 shortly as I only wanted to try out this beta to see if it addressed some previous issues, and curiosity as well.
