this is kind of important, im pretty much new to linux, but not computers.
I share my comp with others, mostly those that are not to happy about how i installed linux (which i now think really IS the greatest OS).
The problem is that i need the boot loader (LILO Graphical) to boot into Windows by default so itll shut every1 else up!


[Hard Drive 1 (c) 30gig] Windows XP

[Hard Drive 2 (d) 4 gig] Linux Mandrake 10.0



also if u got any info on how to make an Alcatel USB ADSL modem work for a Canadian Sympatico ISP, please help! cuz i really like linux, and NONE of the previous questions/sites worked for me and my modem!

edit your /etc/lilo.conf file there will be a section for booting windows and a section for booting linux just move the windows bit above the linux bit, then run lilo. You will have to be root to do this

If you don't have any front ends to lilo...
Su to root and edit /etc/lilo.conf
You will see a label that says somthing like
linux=/dev/hda*
map=/boot/map
other=/dev/hdb*
label=win

Well, cut the Linux part and put it after Windows.
Save the file, and run /sbin/lilo.

Reboot.
