Mageia 3

I istalled Mageia3 KDE on me desktop computer...
I must say, i am happy with this Linux System.
I have me other computer with NVIDIA Gefoce 6200 and it work relatif good. After trying more than 4 other distro's i must say its the best for me.
So that computer can run for a few years more, i now NVIDIA is not good supported by Linux, on Windows7 the drivers works good, but after 2 day"s i had enough of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, when there are people who have NVIDIA on board of their pc's, GO MAGEIA... I am happy with.
Greetings,
Mefisto

This could not be further from the truth. See this link, there are drivers from Nvidia for most of the chip sets they have ever produced. I have several Nvidia cards running without issues.

-->http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html

If you need help, open a thread, and ask for it.

Ok, your right, but not every linux system works great with nvidia, or like Mr. Torvalds says once... Fuck nvidia ! And for anyone new with the Linux system, it is not always easy to go to that site and pick the right driver and install him. If there is a new system, than it must recognice the harware and pick the right drivers and support them. Sorry but thats the way i think.

I agree with you here. It is the ability of a distro to handle the drivers, not the drivers them selves.

I used Mandriva for several years, and then Magia. Their method for handling Nvidia to me was not very clean. I run Slackware now. I can either use sbopkg or download a run file from Nvidia and install. Both work with ease. I now get the .run files from Nvidia, they work as expected.
