Why no "Did you find this post helpful?" link for thread starters?


A number of threads are not asking for help but posting tips ie:http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...fs-4175432985/

But there is no "Did you find this post helpful?" link for the first post, why is this? could it be added?

Probably because no one has thought that people would post tips without starting a thread with a question for assistance. I can see how it could be a good idea. Maybe have a section for tips/hints/tutorials (other forums are set up this way) so people can post there (moderated of course) and get the recognition they are due.

I guess it's because starting a thread is usually for asking a question. The sections for tutorials/howtos are elsewhere:
