Why is there a Windows icon in my profile box to the left?
I've never noticed it before, but there's a little Windows icon at the bottom of my profile box when I make a post.
I searched through the LQ FAQs and haven't been able to find a setting for it in my profile. I see other people have something more dignified like a Debian swirl, or Geeko (the openSuse mascot).
Yeah, you can put anything you want in the user agent and it will report that as your operating system.
Just change the value for "general.useragent.extra.firefox" in about:config to whatever you want to show as your OS. You might need to do this for some distributions anyway; as for example Slackware doesn't modify the agent string in their FF package.
