In addition, we're doing a bit of a member cleanup project over the next couple months that should catch and remove most accounts obviously created solely for spamming (such as SexiLittleGerls, which has been purged). In the interim, if you come across an LQ username that you think is offensive, please do report it (but as unSpawn mentioned, there probably isn't a need to create a new thread each time). Thanks for the feedback.

Lets start with saying that up 'till now I haven't seen names that aren't suitable for this, or alike, board. Which must mean that the names that contain actual profanity are cleaned soon (thumbs up for the mods!)
To those that keep reporting names that "contain profanity": Make sure you do a little search to find out more about a given name. Although this board is situated in the US and most of the user are probably from north America, there are loads of other nationalities that have accounts.
The following first and last name are very common in the Netherlands and Belgium: Dick de Cock (also written as Dik de Kok). And what about the current Sheila Dikshit story. I do agree with the "culturally insensitive and vulgar" remark by New Zealand's government. Lets not go there on this board.

Reason: fixed spelling
Wasn't Dr. Death a comic book super-villain? A quick google suggests he's originally from the Batman series.
Comic book characters seem to be fairly common choices for internet handles. I wouldn't read too much into it.
I have noticed here members with names like :
1. Dr. Death
2. DeadEyes
These names may not be considered offensive, but I find them creepy and I often avoid their threads.
Oh, come on, are we really gonna ban everyone because they have a badass name (oops). I used to name myself stuff like that too, Dr. Doom and others. Most of these are comic book characters, so please, let's not over do it. (EDIT: Agent Smith)
As for names from other languages, as long as they make sense in that language and are not done purposefully, they should be allowed. What if some common words in English are insults in other languages ? It's very likely. So, lets have a bit of understanding, you know.
Summary: Don't over do it. Ban only the clear cases. Please.

Evil really is in the eye of the beholder... every word is given meaning by the reader,in my case,I cant be offended by what I read as I would be offending myself and that would be stupid... LOL
here is a good example of how silly this thread is...
