Two New LQ Profile Fields
Just wanted to make everyone aware of two new profile fields that are now available in your UserCP. The two fields are "LQ Bookmarks Username" and "LQ Wiki Username". By filling these out you will get links to your Social Bookmarks and your LQ Wiki contributing, respectively, in each of your posts. This will allow you (and others) to access all of your work across all of the LQ sites quickly and easily. If you have any questions, suggestions let me know.
yep done it. - thanks for that jeremy. Just want to let people know that userCP = MyLQ.
EDIT: there doesn't seem to be a button on the bottom of our posts like the "thanks button"- I think that would be cool. Newbies (and others!) may want to read some guru's (or other helpful user's) bookmarks and wiki articles especially.
Oh, what about name hijackers? I have stuck to titanium_geek for all my usernames- but man, there could be a problem. I assume that general LQ protocol (though unspoken) is to go with your username.

titanium_geek, we're trying to get away from the buttons. You'll notice that filling in the info inserts a link under "HCL Entries" and "Reviews" in each of your posts (to the left). I think that's cleaner, but am open to ideas/suggestions. As for usernames, they certainly don't have to be the same. I notice that some people have their LQ username and then use their Wikipedia username for the LQ Wiki for example.
But I am still worried about the name hijacking or even worse: the inconvenience in having to register for each and every place. I guess that the accounts differ very much and some codes would have to change but what are your plans? Stick with the different registrations or merge them sooner or later? A merge now would be hard, since some people use different names. :/

By default when we add new things we try to use the current LQ login. With the wiki we didn't, because I didn't think the LQ signup system fit into the wiki culture very well. Similar reasoning was used with other sites.
name hijacking? well, you just have to get to your name first.
the most intensive sign up process is for the forum itself. The others are as simple as a username, password, and perhaps the email. If they were all as intensive as the forum sign up, I would complain, but hey, it's not that bad. You only sign up for the stuff you want. (which for me is all of it!)

Man.. If you hijack Pcghost I will hunt you down and...Oh wait, I already registered it . Actually, I have this username all over the Internet. I just found out that some idiot out there made a Windows virus that uses my username.
