thread quality / cool insight awards

Is there any quality award given to threads which give high quality explanations (usually a cool insight or clever analogy) of a certain situation as posed by the thread starter?

Ok, the thread answerer probably just wants a step-by-step howto, but what about the thread readers? You know it can be a pain to use the search function, read the first three or four, and find they are all too specific to be relevant.

Sure, this is probably beyond the scope of simple question-answering, and I dare say "truly insightful threads" are probably few and far between, but for the uninterested reader (as opposed to thread starter and thread answerer) it could be very beneficial.

Nice idea.Only problem is that it would require somebody to read all the threads and rate them.Somebody would need to be a genius to figure out what info is correct, outdated or distro specific.Volunteers??

To a certain extent, when somebody hyperlinks to another thread, they are already saying it is fairly good.

For a start you could try and find out which threads are the most linked-to, and then try looking for the best in that lot.

Also, it wouldn't have to be that rigorous. I was really thinking of the uninterested reader, whose distro or config probably does not coincide with the details of the thread.
