Thread Minimize?

Some threads get a little lengthy - gmail style "click to expand" wouldn't be bad - would likely need to be an option though as I can see it being a bit ugly.

Hmmmm....

Then what would you suggest as being the criteria by which the posts get compressed?

I would think that a possibility would be to make threads that go over one page (or maybe 2 pages?) get posts truncated initially like the posts listed in the 'Statistics' tab of the 'My Profile' section. Something like the first couple of lines shown, maybe with a button; "Expand this post"? Or maybe a button at the top with "Expand All Posts"?

Thoughts?

Definitely some good thinking - I like the "expand all" feature and half-like the everything over a page idea(this could get frustrating, depending), but I think that the latest post should not necessarily be minimized by default.
I was thinking a little more at the per-post level than overall myself - would be nice to "minimize" the 5 paragraph post that expands perhaps a little too verbosely into something a little off-topic as an aside.

Yes, very much like the 'Statistics' tab->User's subscribed threads list look. A well designed out view and more or less what I had in mind for the minimized form.
