Thread cross-references

Is there some kind of markup for cross-referencing one thread from another one? In particular, suppose that a question in one thread is answered by information in another thread. How should the connection be made?

Usually just a direct link in a reply is sufficient enough.

But how do you construct that direct link? Can you give an example of how to link this thread to another one that's already out there?

You can just copy and paste the URL of that thread in the body of your reply. If you want to make it look pretty, just add a URL tag around the URL. To illustrate:

[ u r l = http://www.linuxquestions.org ] Descriptive label [ / u r l ]

Remove the spaces, type in whatever description you want, and you'll have a clickable link
