Tapatalk integration for LQ

Any chance the Tapatalk plugin could be installed for LQ? Its a free plugin that will make the forum compatible with Tapatalk, which is a forum app for smartphones. Its quick to install, and its just something I'd like to see (I'm a tapatalk user of course).

site is http://www.tapatalk.com/

Tapatalk is something we were considering, but based on other developments in the mobile area it's unlikley we'll pursue it at this time. Thanks for the feedback.

Is there a mobile app that you've picked already? I use tapatalk and forumrunner and didn't see LQ on either. Not sure what else is out there

No decision has been made yet, but we're leaning toward the stock native branded mobile apps.

2 Q's, Jeremy:
  1. Is there a list of said native apps? -- I'm in the market for a smartphone & how well I can get LQ could influence my choice.

  2. Will there be any review of LQ's basic CSS or whatever is still causing Konqueror 3.5 to not deal w/ wide "Code:" blocks correctly?
If this were is a Konq. bug, I would report it; but I think it is in LQ because it didn't exist in MepisLovers.org when that site was still using vBulletin.

I was thinking LQ create some sort of mobile form factor of the LQ site that can be viewed more easily from a mobile browser.

1) We'll fully support android and likely iphone with the native apps. In addition we are looking into having a mobile version of the site itself.

2) We'll look into the CSS issue. Is it impacting any other browsers?

I haven't seen any problems with LQ using Firefox on Slackware or Dolphin on Android. No experience with other browsers though.

And I'm still in favor of Tapatalk over anything else, personally.

Can the plugins for multiple apps be installed at once? I've never tried

Looking at the cost structure of Tapatalk (each and every member has to pay to be able to post or we have to pay a very large fee) in addition to the multiple better options that look to be materializing, the likelihood of us choosing Tapatalk is considerably smaller than when this thread started.

Googling the Android Market did reveal an "LQ Mobile" app, but it only allows you to log in via Facebook, not with your regular LQ username and password. You also cannot post from the app without a Facebook account. Why is this?

The currently app was a test and is a simple RSS feed reader. You can't post using it or use your LQ credentials in any way. The app will not be supported by us and will be removed from the market when we have an official app.

If I'm not mistaken, the only cost to a user is for the full version of the app (which does enable features like posting). The full version enables posting with all Tapatalk-enabled forums, it isn't a fee for each forum.

AFAIK there aren't any 100% free forum apps that allow full posting and PM checking and such.

So then why doesn't Jeremy just create one?
