sugestion-"Same thread in more than one forum"

Hi!
This is just a sugestion..
If someone posts a thread in more than one forum, maybe 2 or 3 or more, the moderators will "close" the others and let just 1 of them "open" for posting answeres. For example, this , this and this . It's the same thread posted in 3 different forums, 1 is "closed", 2 are "open" . The best forum is "Programming", so let this one "open" and delete the others. If there where answeres in one of the threads in some other forum, just copy the answeres in the one that fit's best. The one that posted the threads, will sure find his answer if there remains only one of them.
It would be great if you could do this in future. Why having 2 closed threads and one opened if we could have just one that works?
This thread was only an example that I found first, there's no offence to the one who posted this 3 times.

Thank you!
Boby

If the crossposted threads have answers, they are merged into one thread in the most appropriate forum.

In the case you cited (of course it was an example), the mods were perhaps not informed about the existence of the other 2 threads. And all mods do not have mod access to every forum.

This is true - if possible we will merge threads, alternatively for first time offenders we will close threads and point to the ones left open.

Threads are only deleted in extreme circumstances - for a transgression such as double posting they are left showing.

As far as copying and pasting answers back and forth between threads, that would work well in a board with a low volume of threads - on this board we would spend most of our time doing this.

But of course, we have all read and agreed to the rules of LQ and we would never break them, right?
