stickys and links to mundain questions

I really think it would be a good idea to put some sticky posts *threads where only modriators can post *you know what I am talking about* for the following
areas so people are incouraged not to avoid posting a new thread asking the same question again

in hardware

stickys for turning digital out on and off.
nividia drivers / screen sesoultion

in distro general

which x manager is the best *make this one postable*
and a poll to answer the age old question * which distro should I go to next?*

it is just a suggestions that I think would make more of an impact than doing a thread search. That and I am just trying to make MasterC and acid kewpie jobs easier hehe

good ? yes no maybe ?

he he he, my job is to work in a pharmacy and help out my patients. My hobby is to come here and help out my fellow linuxers. Other than that, I just sometimes like to help out the people who double post and such, let them know it's not a good idea. I'm not a mod, just a regular member just like you

As for the sticky idea, I think this FAQ that is being talked about sure sounds like a great idea. I also like the sticky Drew posted up in Linux - General, is a fountain of information and a great idea until the FAQ gets rolling.

My 22.5 peso's.

Cool

All forums will soon have a sticky FAQ or two from the moderator of that forum. The one in security from unSpawn is a good example. A general Tutorial/HOWTO section of the site is also in the works.

how far back dose the thread database go in LQ ?

if I could get a couple of good threads *ones in length* I can use the links to throw to others and shuch in the meantime as the FAQ is written.
