Spurious outgoing connections while browsing LQ

I've noticed that when I browse linuxquestions.org my firewall blocks outgoing connections to machines in the iserver.net domain
(today I picked up pluto1, pluto3, and fun3.iserver.net )

Here is a typical logged (after dropping) packet rundown:

IPTABLES tcp-out: IN= OUT=eth0 SRC=X.X.X.X DST=128.121.124.36 LEN=60 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=64 ID=58662 PROTO=TCP SPT=2040 DPT=8080 WINDOW=5840 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0

What are these connections for? I don't browse much anywhere else, so I don't know if this is a common occurrence or not.

It is most likely something to do with an ad. You can block it if you do want to see the ad (I think it is the FileNavagator ad in this case). Thanks for pointing it out, I will remove that ad - I don't like ads that do this kind of thing.
