shooting the penguin

warning... completely pointless suggestion ahead:

while i was perusing the various forums, i returned to the main page, and happened to notice that i had the most recent posts in 7 out of the 9 forums.

my first thought was that i needed to get a life. failing that, i at least needed to get a real job. however, after several other thoughts along those same lines, i had another thought, which helped ease the pain of those first two:

anytime someone has the most recent posts in all 9 forums, they have *tada* shot the penguin. and maybe, as recognition of such a specious achievment, we get a little penguin icon next to our names in our posts.

Which would very likely encourage people to make absolutely pointless posts to get the most recent in every forum.

Thumbs up

lol - nice going tricky i think the best i've ever done is getting those 7 out of 9. i've been posting like a maniac lately, trying to keep ahead of kewp... but, still, no penguin shots for me. not to mention, i got a bit of a cold the past few days, and i've staying in bed mostly... so, here i come, log in after an abscence of two days, and kewp's suddenly 50 posts ahead of me.

but, it's nice to see the more pointless of my suggestions to this site getting some mileage.

yeah you know you visit to often when i actually didn't realise i shot the penguin, and remembered your post about it, so i just had to get a screenshot of it..
we should come up with a term of linuxquestions people who visit to often, you know, like people who follow grateful dead are dead heads... i wonder what we could call ourselves since we visit here so often, hmmm... GEEKS I guess would be the right term.
