search this/any forum boxes

This one has been bugging me for a while.

When browsing messages in a particular forum, the boxes for search this and search any forum are in the exact backasswards places. The search any forum input box should be next to the forum jump drop down list at the bottom of the page and the search this forum input box should be at the top of the page. I wonder how much wasted CPU time resulted from people seacrhing all forums when they really just wanted to search the one they were reading. I myself have made the mistake a dozen times and am far from a newbie. The site would probably run 10% faster just by making this simple change.

Well, the site certainly wouldn't run 10% faster, since searches are done against a dedicated machine. That being said, the search box setup is quite different in the new site layout (which is now officially in alpha and being tested by the mods). Stay tuned - it's getting closer

Thanks for the feedback.

OT but anyway:

If it is alpha maybe you can give us some sneak-preview-list of features?

I'll say this - if things go as planned you don't have too much time left to wait.

Wow I'm glad to hear that I've had the same problem as Crito trying to search for something.
