We've taken a couple steps to improve the speed of the search until a more permanent solution can be implemented. If you notice any problems, let us know. Thanks.

We've had a dedicated search server for quite some time now. The server finally died recently.

We use replication to get content to the search server.

Thanks for the info jeremy. I'm sure my questions about the running of LQ must get annoyingly time consuming after a while.

Well, I'm glad you don't think so. I'm just one of those people who likes to know how everything he uses works.
