Search engine does not find string which figures as a hyperlink in a post.

Hi: I have just used 'xcircuit' as a search string in the Search forum and no matches were found. But please, see this.
Regards.

That's strange. I did the same search and it worked fine for me. Here are my search results: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...archid=4837990

If you think that's strange, wait till I tell you this: I clicked your link and was sent to a page with a box saying 'Sorry - No matches'. Regards.

EDIT: I think that proves something I've always suspected. That the search results have a weak dependence on location. At least, I have seen this happened in Google.

Hi,

Searching for xcircuit also works on my side.

@stf92: Did you change any of the search settings? One can permanently set some search options (advanced search -> search options).

Hope this helps.

For the record, location does not impact the search at LQ in any way.

This little piece of info is more valuable to me than the original question. Thanks.

@druuna: I knew that. Thanks anyways.
