At first I thought it was just me - but I notice that quite a few folk remove the boldface tags from inside the default quote block. I think the boldface overemphasizes the quote and that the horizontal bars are quite enough distinction.
Just my opinion, but the boldface does set it off. How this displays
would of course depend upon the users browser, selected fonts,
font size, etc. If there is a short reply after a short quote, I usually
leave it alone. But, if I reply to the quote in proper form, i.e. after
each question or part with a separate answer, bottom posting, I
will sometimes change the tags. LQ is the easiest to read forum IMO.
Let it remain in boldface. I think it stands out neatly as such.
However, those who prefer not to use the standard quote button (like I do sometimes when using the quick reply) can always copy/paste and use whatever formatting we want.
I think it should stay. Quotes are usually bold and code tags are not, makes a easy distinction with a quick glance. If you won't want whatever it is your quoting to be bold, simply remove the bold tags from it.
