Questions Network Account?

When trying to log out, it brings up the usual box asking if I really want to logout. When I click on, yes, a black banner appears at the top of the page and in white letters says something to the effect,
"you have been logged on using your questions network account." It flashes by very quickly so that may not be the exact message. Just what is a "questions network account"? I'm using Opera 12.14 in Slackware64-current. Edit in, I just tried to logout again, and, again, got the same message. Basically I can't logout off the board. Edit in: It took a quick finger on the mouse button, but here it is: |
LQ (and AQ) are both part of The Questions Network: http://jeremy.linuxquestions.org/201...tions-network/
I'm not able to reproduce this bug, but if you delete all LQ-related cookies you won't be automatically logged in the next time you visit the site. --jeremy |
Using the "delete private data" function in Opera I always delete cookies and everything else, after logging off of this board, and all other boards, after each visit.
Here it won't let me sign off and is automatically signing me back on. After about the 4th or 5th try I finally get out or I can use the aforementioned "delete private data" function and wipe the browser clean, but that is a crude way of signing off. Not having an interest in anything "Android-related" I didn't read the announcement until just now and I am NOT too pleased to find I've been automatically enrolled without my explicit permission. |
I have been bugged by this bug for a very long time by now.
Just now deleted ALL my cookies/history everything (Firefox 4). This helped for the first time ONLY. Second time I tried to log out and got logged in again automatically. This can be a serious problem if I ever visit LQ through a cyber- cafe or someone else's computer. :( Had cleared the cookies using "clear history". Screenshot attached. |
Noticed a pattern here:
If a login and then log out after a short period of time, then I get automatically logged back in. If I login and then logout after a somewhat long period, I am at peace! I didn't use use a stopwatch here though. |
I used to get this problem about a year ago, but not anymore. I disable third party cookies on all browsers, so that might have something to do with it.

Do we actually have to click logout twice to get out?
This problem occurs on the second click. |

I brought this up two or three years ago. Let me see if I can find the thread. Here you go: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-twice-754222/ The question was not answered. |
