question re: search - priority of parameters

I do a fari bit of searching on this site. most commonly my favorite way to answer repetitive questions is to direct users to threads with the same question that i have already answered.

so my most common search is therefore limited by 1) my username, and 2) some search term.

here's the point: it seems that the server is overloaded in general by the search functionality, but in particular it seems to do a broad search based on terms before limiting by username. I submit this based on the outrageous time it takes took to search for entries with 'fstab' limited to my username. I surmised that the server must've tried to query all 'fstab' threads before going back to limit based upon my username.

If this is an accurate conclusion, i think the order is exactly backwards, and server resources could be spared by limiting based upon more specific constraints first, and broader constraints second.

Thank you for your consideration,
