What are these Linux icons on our left panels about?
How are they chosen?
Do we have any control over the ones under our names?

See http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-posts-749091/. The icon you get comes from a user agent string in your browser. If your browser identifies you as using "Linux", you'll see Tux. If, on the other hand, your browser identifies you as using "Debian", you'll see the Debian logo. Have you changed browsers, or machines, between posts? The thread I linked to is where all the discussion about this is going on.
