Posting replies and editing posts seems broken in Chromium

I am having some issues with posting replies using Chromium (open source version of Google Chrome) version 4.0.249.43. In Firefox, when I post a quick reply, usually the page does not completely reload (a little box ppops up telling me the reply is being posted, and then it gets added to the thread). In Chromium, I get taken to a new page with the "reply being posted" box, and then the entire page with the thread reloads. However, just now this didn't work right. Instead of posting my reply, the board told me that I had to wait 11 seconds before posting again. So I went back to the thread page, re-pasted my reply, and posted again. This time it worked, but my reply showed up twice!

Also, I cannot seem to edit my posts under Chromium. When I hit edit, I just get a spinning circle (sorry if I'm not describing this well) suggesting it's trying to load the edit box but can't.

Long and short, it appears that some of the Javascript/AJAX stuff is broken with Chrome/Chromium. I'm not sure if this is a Vbulletin problem or a bug in the browser, but I thought I'd report it nonetheless, especially as Chrome/Chromium seems to be gaining market share.

I have
Code:

Google Chrome        4.0.249.43 (Official Build 34537)
WebKit        532.5
V8        1.3.18.16
User Agent        Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/4.0.249.43 Safari/532.5

and have had no problems. Do you have the version directly from http://www.google.com/chrome?hl=en or one of the builds via your distro? The distro versions may be built using Wine and I found them problematical. I've had no issues with the official build.

I'm using the Arch Linux package, which is not built with WINE (pacman -Qi doesn't list it as a dependency). It could be an issue with the way it was built. I might try and official build to see if it works any differently.

How about use a real browser like firefox?
No junk like chrome, opera or internet exploiter.

# apt-cache policy google-chrome-beta
google-chrome-beta:
Installed: 4.0.249.43-r34537
Candidate: 4.0.249.43-r34537
Version table:
*** 4.0.249.43-r34537 0
500 http://dl.google.com stable/main Packages
works just fine.

I get the same thing on one of my boxes (I have 3 different versions installed on 3 different machines and can't remember which is which at the moment) I'll update when I remember which it was.

On my Slack box I used the Slackbuild for chrome, following all dependencies listed in the Slackbuild. It works fine for editing and quick replies.

On Ubuntu I used the daily builds and in this version (called chromium rather than chrome) I have broken editing/quick replies.

Hope this helps.
