I think the design of the forum doesn't make much sence. This is because new posts alays appear at the top. But when I reply to my thread it may be on the 3rd page because many newer posts have been made. Other forums place the thread at the top of the first page everytime theres a new reply to that thread. This means the thread many not get much attension. Like my thread for example http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...readid=343524. God knows how many threads it's under when I replied to it this morning it didn't move to the first page . Like I said other forums do move it to the first page.
With all do respect though LQ is very cool site and thanks to it's members am loosing less hair :D

All replied threads *do* come to the top of the forum. I cannot understand what your problem is?

Are you saying that replied threads do not come to the top of the forum?

Harishankar is right, posting a reply to a thread does move it to the top of the first page - whether that be in the "new posts" search or in a particular forum. The only times this doesn't happen are:
when the thread is in the "0 reply" listing (obviously)
where there are stickied threads - they are always at the top of the page, any new ones come below them.

Of course, if you post a reply at a particularly busy time you will sometimes find that your post is near the top of the page when others hit submit just after you.

Can you provide a screenshot of this happening?

Well, I think there is an option in the control panel for how you want the threads, newest first, or oldest first.
