Talking Possible bug

Hi!

Just to clear things up, I did search ("poll ip & optionally: vote") before I post this thread!

I went to the poll section yesterday and voted for a few topics.
Again, I went to the same sections, with a different IP, and I was able to vote.

So I guess it's a cookie thing depending on the IP of the machine.

I think it would be better if you flag a user when s/he votes in his profile, untill the poll is dead. So if a user votes from different IP's it would only count the first no matter how many times s/he changes the IP.

Polls do not take into account your IP in any way - it's all user based. If you want to email be more specific on what occurred, I can look into it.

Well, what happened is described in the first post.

I was using a proxy then in the next day, I didn't.

I able to vote in both times.

If you want I can send you both my IP's. One is static (the proxy's) and the other is dynamic.

The same user cannot vote in the same poll using from different IPs. The forum software flags the User ID, not your IP address.

That is the reason why guests cannot vote.
