New thread status suggestion
 

Why not add an extra flag to the thread status, called answered or something.
This would indicate that this thread has a working answer to the problem.
This would same some time browsing the threads. Also it would be easier for users to search for the answer before asking about it. This way we would reduce the number of double post throughout time.

Flaging a thread as answered should probably be permitted for thread starter and/or forum moderator.

This is an excellent idea and has been suggested before. This is a definite TODO, but will take some time to implement. Thanks for the suggestion.
