New section for "Getting linux to cooperate with windows"
( I know that i asked this question at the end of some other thread, off-topic.)
One very common challenge for me is to get linux servers to work in a windows-client environment. I think it would be nice to create a sub-section about such problems, comments and questions. The section should not necessarily be "how to get windows to work with linux", but the other way around, "how to get linux to work with windows", because this obviously is not a windows forum.
No other forum i know of has both, linux and windows forums.
I know... those M$ devils want to get linux out of the world. I think, that if the clients use autoupdate, MS wins. If you want a stable network, go MS with the domain controller only.
I thought about a forum like this before but I figured that those questions can just be asked in "Enterprise Linux" since most enterprises has the model Linux server + Windows workstations. If the problem is tied to an app like Samba or Wine, just ask in the software forum.
... or in networking- but most likely in enterprise or in software- the more threads in enterprise will encourage more business users to switch to linux.
