Unhappy my custom user title gets reset after a little while

hi... i go into My LQ to edit my profile... i choose to change my user title from "Guru" to "LQ Addict" (cuz i am NOT a guru) and it successfully changes - but only for a few minutes (then it automatically goes back to "Guru")...

just wondering if it's a bug or am i doing something wrong... TIA...

Is this happening to anyone else? It's the first time I've heard of it.

Same applies to me so I tried to verify this for you, Jeremy, but I don't even find the place to change the Guru to LQ Addict?!?

<edit> I'll let that stand as a warning against the reckless use of "post quick reply" instead of briefly checking the facts -- ah well, sorry Jeremy & thanks harishankar. (What messed me up was simply the repeated and useless attempt to find the apropriate button ).

I'm assuming it's not there because you've not reached 5000 posts yet

Maybe you are destined to be a guru

It looks to be a pretty strange problem. Never come across this one before!

No, I mean I administer a vbulletin forum so I know all about using custom titles. I just don't know how Jeremy has set it up here so "choosing" between two or more titles is new to me.

I see. I'm entirely out of my depth here and thus can't offer any suggestion to the masters .

Hey tuxdev. Thanks for noticing that!

It's something to do with my new Linux editorial at LQ.org. You'll find it in the Articles -> Advocacy section. Also do let me know what you think about my writings.

Jeremy was kind enough to grant me a special user title.

We have a pending code upgrade that should be rolled out in the near future. If that doesn't fix the issue, please add it to the bug tracker. Thanks.
