multimedia forum?

I was thinking that there could be a forum, or a forum within another forum (perhaps software) that would be all about multimedia. It could help with people trying to use different programs to create works of art (pictures, music, movies, 3d models, etc). Maybe this would include web design. People could show off what they've made in linux, help others with applications, and more. Anyway, the point of it would be to show that linux is beginning to offer viable solutions for multimedia, and might help ease the transition for people who have been stuck using other operating systems for their multimedia apps. What do you guys think?

to an extent it seems alright, but when i personally think about it, i think them questions
could probably stick in the Linux - Software and Linux - Newbie section..
i mean you segregate every topic into a fourm, which like i said to an extent this seems
to be a valid idea, but on an overall decision i think it would be just best to keep these
types of questions to the two fourms listed above ..

I likewise agree with DrOzz. This subject seems to be pretty well covered already by both the Software and Newbie forums. -- J.W.

It's nice but not a neccessity. The Software, and Linux-General forum are best suited for the job.

At this time I don't think we need a multimedia forum. Most questions would indeed fit nicely in the current forums we have.

perhaps this is something that LQ isn't suited for. Due to server load, images aren't really used a lot here. It does sound like a cool idea, but I'm not sure LQ is the place.

That said, can you post flickr (etc) images in the user blogs section? I have my own website so don't use the LQ blogging functionality, and perhaps this is the place for this sort of thing on LQ?
