mod moves newbie question to new forum

occassionally I track posts on certain THEME and see if I can help but I noticed a newbie had not replied to a different poster and I am guessing the reason is the mod moved the post from forum A to B.

Q1. Does the mod then email the newbie to say do a search or look in B?

comment A I am guessing newbies look in the forum of their memory.....lets say its the newbie post and umm when they can not find it.....they do not know how to do a search of their user name.

comment B so I am left wondering ......was the newbie still pursuing the issue or not?
Well I could just jump in and reply......but I am not always that arrogant.

comment C if I was persistent newbie, I might then do a duplicate post and start the cycle all over?

any clues?

If they have enabled the option to recieve update e-mails in their User CP then they will get a notification when the mod posts a reply stating that it has been moved. If they have elected not to receive reply e-mails then their privacy will be respected.

And always, when a mod moves a thread, they will state this in a reply in the thread usually with a reason. If you see a thread that was moved and no reason was stated, feel free to contact a moderator of that forum to ask for a reason.
