Microsoft Ads in Download Linux Section

Was wondering if LQ has been hacked. When reading the info page for various distros, all the info links show ads for MS products when hovered.

This has been covered before. While we will immediately block any anti-Linux or defamatory ad placed by *any* company, we have no desire to block ads by specific companies on an arbitrary basis. We're pro-Linux and pro-Open Source, not anti-Microsoft.

Sorry. I did search for similar threads but didn't find any that were relevant. While I do understand and respect your "non-anti-Microsoft" stance, I consider MS ads in the Download Linux section to be a bit counter-productive in the "promoting Linux" department. But that is just an opinion...

Cheers

Microsoft money spends just like everyone else's does.

I actually think it's quite humorous to see ads for them on any FOSS focused site.

Agreed, AsusDave. Any ads that deal with FOSS deserve to be FOSS ads, and any ads on a proprietary software site deserve to be about proprietary software. ROTFLMFAO @ M$.
