Unhappy Micro$oft = broken links

Hi all!

I just want to ask to remove the automatic conversion of the word "microSoft" (the S has been capitalized to fool the filter) to micro$oft. This results in broken links (that are not necessarily M$ links) like this one.

It's just plain annoying. Thanx!

Unix servers are case sensitive, but not in this case. That being said I will update the URL parser so that it does not do ANY substitutions. Thanks.

Nope. And I do that. However, sometimes, that won't work, if that awful m-word is in the name of a directory or a file. You're quite right, though, there's no problem with it in domain names.

The word Micro$oft, when spelled correctly, is actually a trademark, and to use it without their permission is against the law. Granted I doubt they would really care, but every once in a while the get a stick up their butt.

I would advise agaisnt removing the conversion, except in the case of URL's.
