Lightbulb Make HCL easier to filter/search

I'm looking to build a new box to run Debian, and it would be good to be able to look at all hardware regardless of brand, and do things like:
1. Sort by a score (people owning the hardware would give a score out of 10 on how compatible it is).
2. Filter to e.g. motherboards with onboard 10/100 ethernet, working ACPI, 3 PCI slots ...

I know this would be a pretty major change, but I think it will help the HCL be much more useful. As it is, it's pretty much useless for deciding which hardware to buy unless you've already decided on a particular item and are just double-checking that it works.

For the first part, filter be most/least compatible seems to be what you are after. It seems to rank in order order of average rating. The second part would need to give the section a bit of an overhaul - breaking down the overall details into more detail. It could be done, but would leave existing records without a way to usefully filter them.

We have a complete overhaul of the HCL planned for the mid term future. Thanks for the feedback.

Cool. I think a good way to show which features hardware has would be tags - people would tag something "10/100 ethernet", "motherboard", "MSI". This way people can just create new tags when new types of hardware roll out.

EDIT: Well it seems I'm blind, because the HCL already has keywords. They're considerably less useful than they could be though, because it seems like only the creator of the entry can set them?
