LXer quality control

I have a question and a concern.

First, is there any filtering or quality control done on LXer news feed ?

Should I report articles that are not good quality ? If not, then what can I do, because it does concern me.

This is a recent example:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...t4-4175450817/

This is not the only example, there have been others in the recent past, it's just that I was too lazy or angry to reply.

The quality of this article is quite bad, and I'm not sure whether to reply to correct the mistakes and misconceptions or just report it as garbage.

Second, I know that duplicate LXer posts have been mentioned in this forum before, but I would say that it is still a concern. I see them on a regular basis, and I will report them as stated in the previous thread about them. However, isn't there a way to filter for exact names and summaries and links, etc. ? I mean to remove duplicates automatically.

I think you did the right thing in posting a response below the LQ post.

I also think that that's the extent of the action that should be taken.

When I report a Syndicated Linux News post, it's for one of the following reasons: a) it's spam, b) it's off topic, or c) it's partly or entirely in a very large font.

I totally agree duplicate reports are a problem,I have seen quite a few and wonder if the bandwidth could be used for something else. I do not agree that just because someone doesn't like the content of a report or how it is presented means they should have the right to report it as poor quality or eronious etc etc etc. What is of no interest to one person, because they think it is garbage, may be the begining of a new learning experience for another. I believe if LQ starts censoring articles from outside then LQ needs to also apply the same rules to material within LQ, doing that would empty out alot of General.

Thanks for the feedback. The Syndicated News forum is no different than any other; you should report any content you don't think is appropriate for LQ, and the forum mod(s) will take a look and make a decision. I'll take a closer look at duplicate posts, but the last couple instances I saw were actually multiple entries in the feed coming from them.
