Thanks, Jeremy. I've noticed we're not on the distinguished road any more. The traffic jam's cleared.

But I still think instead of showing the reputation in tooltip it will be better to show it as:

It will be easily visible that way !

How come the tooltip on the scales icon says "Add to MTK358's Reputation"? Why should I be able to give myself reputation? And when I click on it, it doesn't add to my reputation, it just pops up a dialog with my statistics.

Is it intended to show the reputation points even in members that have disabled the reputation system (ie. have a black reputation icon)?

The tooltip will be changing as we roll the system out and perform some tests. Please be patient.

Hi Jeremy, on my OWN posts it says "Add to djsmiley2k's reputation score" in the alt text. Not sure if its worth changing so in self referencing posts it shows "Show my Reputation score" or something?

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far, and the speed of intergration is amazing. I'd expecting it'd be months before we saw something new!

--- Edit: Just saw MTK has raised the issue I've noticed - now I look like a copy cat

The tooltip for your reputation now shows your actual reputation score (unless you have disabled reputation, in which case it shows "Reputation: Disabled").

You tried to vote up your own rep? Disgraceful!

Let's hope that actual know-how will be taken into consideration soon, because at present my score is higher than that of Patrick Volkerding, Eric Hameleers, Robby Workman, and a few more ace Slackers.

I just did it to see what would happen, I doubted that it would really let me vote myself up!

I actually adjusted some of the initial seeding and the rep you have now is likely the one you'll have as the system rolls out. While the reputation system will obviously help identify members such as the ones you've listed above, the "Official Participation" program is also meant as a way to immediately verify the bona fides of a member new to LQ but active in the Open Source community.

I've always known someone else's the real mastermind behind Slackware. The word on the street was that his name is: The Shadow Man, The Master of Slackers, The Slack Man, or simply The Man from Oldham.

Now I know who it is

In order to facilitation some additional testing, I've enabled the system for Contributing Members. If all goes well it's likely I'll enable it for Senior Members as well.
