LinuxQuestions.org Turns Four

That's right! It was four years ago today that I made my first post here at LQ, welcoming everyone to a brand new Linux site. A lot has happened in four years and our growth has been amazing. I really do appreciate everyone's participation here. It's the LQ members that make this site a great community.

Congratulations Jeremy. My thanks to you and the moderators for all your hard work. As a newly hired Linux Systems Administrator, I feel I owe my career to LQ and the people who make this place the best Linux forum on-line. Keep up the good work, and happy birthday LQ.:)

Happy Happy Birthday LQ

I have been using LQ for a while now! Not four years, but had I known what a valuable resource and great bunch of moderators I would have started my linux journey a long time ago!

Thanks to all of you who put in so much effort! And especially Jeremy!

Happy Birthday!!

Congrats and Happy B-day!

Many, many thanks to you, Jeremy, and all of the hard-working, patient, knowledgeable moderators on this board. I stumbled across this site a little over a year ago, after having had my fill of flame wars on other Linux support sites. I really appreciate the "class" exemplified by those who post here. So many of you have been so quick to respond with correct fixes, and I applaud you all for that. This is the only site I recommend to my Linux-newbie friends. I look forward to many more years of discussion as Open-Source software continues to evolve.

I agree with R_Shackleford - the standard of replies and respect in these replies is remarkably higher here at LQ than elsewhere. I have frequented a lot of other Linux forums, but these people just flame each other up so bad you don't ever want to return. Would probably be a bit rougher moderating such a site myself...
