LinuxQuestions.org Podcast
Do you listen to the LinuxQuestions.org Podcast? If not, the last Podcast of the year was recently posted, so this is a great time to check it out. To automatically have the latest podcasts downloaded, add the RSS Feed to your favorite podcatcher. A reminder that you can help spread the word and promote the LQ Podcast by voting for it at Digg and Podcast Alley. If you have any suggestions on how the podcast can be improved, please let us know on the LQ Radio site. Thanks.
I am currently getting the podcast using bashpodder and it works great but I cant seem to find a way to get the ogg file vice the mp3 file. I realize I could download it from the web page but I would love to get it using the automatic catcher.
Is there a plan to offer ogg files via the rss feed? It seems odd that an open source advocate site would not offer ogg files via the rss feed.
Thanks
Lyman
Thanks Jeremy I do enjoy your podcast very much and I realize you are busy. I did find a ref from april of last year that I missed on the first search where you stated "most podcatchers do not support ogg files" (or something to that effect). I have been getting the ogg files from the linux link tech show and jon watsons show (jakattack) and the lottalinuxlinks show for a while now. I think in a recent show Jon pointed out that the majority of his podcast downloads were for the ogg files. All I am saying is maybe the statement you made back in april of last year may have changed and may no longer be accurate at least in the open source world. I am finished now. I will not bring this up again. Again, I do appreciate what you do and will continue to get your podcast no matter which format you provide unless it is something that I can't listen to. Fedora Core does not come with native mp3 support so I have to get that seperately anyway. Please keep up the good work.

Thanks again for the feedback. It also has to do with the way the software handles feeds (ie. an ogg feed at this point would have to be something manual). We'll look into a way to automate it as we definitely want to promote ogg for obvious reasons.
Thank you very much Jeremy. I have added the link to my podcatcher. I will get both the mp3 and ogg for a few times and then remove the mp3 link. Thanks again.
