LinuxQuestions.org Contest now has Four Weekly Winners
LinuxQuestions.org Contest now has Four Weekly Winners. In addition to Top Patron and Top Volunteer by funds donated we now have Top Patron and Top Volunteer by comments made. Thats right - you can now win a prize just by participating! Here is a little explanation:
Quote:
PATRON
In the specified time period, each patron gets a score that is equal o the number of people that he/she has rated. It is not the total number of ratings...but the total number of people.
VOLUNTEER
In the specified time period, each volunteer gets a score that is equal to the number of people who has provided a rating on the person. Once again, this is not the total number of ratings...but the total number of people who have rated the person.
Remember, to be eligible you need to fill in your affero username in your LinuxQuestions profile.
KnightAbel, the short answer is NO. It costs no money...just participation . You've posted quite a bit since you joined, so you could certainly win if you spent a little time. First thing though, you'll need to register here and add your Affero username to your Linuxquestions user profile. Then,
TO WIN REDHAT, MANDRAKE, OR RMS'S PERSONALLY AUTOGRAPHED BOOK WITH NO MONEY:
ONE: get people to rate you by asking them to click on the affero button in your posts, OR
TWO: spend some time going through the forums and commenting on others who have made interesting posts themselves.
For the long answer, MAYBE. If you weren't a student and had $5, you could have won last week by giving on behalf of someone who inspired you. You would have won because you were to top PATRON that week, and the lucky person who inspired you would have won because he/she would have been the top VOLUNTEER that week. Most importantly, though, the great causes would have won also, because they would have received the $5. To see this weeks standings, go here.
