Any chance of getting a Linux kernel forum?

This has been asked in the past and, IIRC, it was decided that we didn't get enough kernel specific traffic to warrant it having it's own forum.

I don't think so. Kernel problems may fall into other categories like software, hardware, just about anything.

The way things are categorized on this site right now it's focussed on the end user point of view and not on the developer point of view. I know that a lot of other sites have a kernel forum, but that's no reason why LQ should have one.

Kernel problems relate to different parts of the system and hence fall into different existing categories.

I agree with Harishankar's view point; and currently I have some questions about kernel, but I have no idea where to ask. Though I'm only an end user, I'm interested in learning it and hope could see such forums appeared.

I think Linux - General may be the place to ask.
