Linux Kernel Configuration (new forum)?

Hello and congratulations on a wonderful Web site.
As a newbie, I don't know that I would have been as happy with Linux as I am without the support I have received from this site.

I have one suggestion for a new Forum.
I have looked for a site which will help newbies like me recompile kernels (which I think is one of the strenghs of Linux), and although I can find enough information about the process itself ( i.e. the make mrproper, make config etc.), there is little to explain more fully the consequences and the dependencies of the choice one makes during the Kernel Configuration.
I find that the Help that comes with Make xconfig or menuconfig sometimes leave a lot to be desired.
Although some parameters a straightforward, others are not.

What do you think?
I know I'm a newbie, but if there's enough newbies out there....
And, after all, isn't this site all about helping each other?

I make this suggestion because there does not seem to be, on this site or elsewhere, discussions on Kernel configuration parameters.

Anyone out there agree?

Regards, and keep up the good work!

This has actually been asked and requested on numerous times. We feel the demand just isn't there yet as kernel configurations can belong in several of our forums that already exist.
Try searching this forum for many other reasons.

This has been suggested countless times before such as this thread and it is the opinion of jeremy and the rest of the LQ team that this is unnecessary at this time.

Edit: Damn... looks like TK beat me to it
